From 2026, The Institute for Multidisciplinary Research in Art (ICMA) at the George Enescu National University of Arts, Iași (UNAGE Iași) presents a podcast series devoted to current themes in research across the visual arts, music, and theatre.
Titled In Conversation, the series offers a platform for polyphonic dialogue, bringing together global perspectives shaped by diverse cultures and traditions. Episodes explore transformations in arts education; contemporary directions in artistic, historiographic, theoretical, and curatorial research in relation to today’s (post-)digital condition; and the role of art in responding to the social challenges of the present.
The series opens with two episodes focused on music, in which Ligia Fărcășel (ICMA researcher) is joined in conversation, first by Thomas Solak (Royal Danish Academy of Music, Copenhagen, Denmark) and, secondly, by Cecilia Oinas (Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts Helsinki, Finland). These discussions examine distinct pedagogical approaches within Nordic higher music education, considering the structure of academic curricula and field-specific challenges through the lens of the guests’ professional experience.
